While you do not have to be an expert on what they are and how they function, you should be aware of the names of the most vital parts of your computer. This will help you greatly when you have to seek help for a computer issue or talk to others about your computer’s needs. Not only will you be able to understand more of what you are being told by a computer repairman or other technician, but you might also find that this knowledge will help you to comprehend and solve smaller problems on your own.
For best results, however, you should never take apart or otherwise tamper with your computer’s hardware. If you do not follow this advice and do open a piece of hardware, you should be sure that the computer and all of its components are unplugged so as to avoid electrical shock and serious injury or death. Additionally, it is important to note that opening hardware components will often result in avoidance of the warranty or guarantee policy.
